What Is The Main Difference Between Previous And Latest Test Pattern of CGL? 
There will be a major difference between the latest paper pattern and the year 2015 paper pattern. Now, from 2016 onwards paper is conduct in online mode while before this paper was conducted in offline mode. If we talk about the pattern its again has a major difference in the number of papers or tiers and also has a difference in the number of questions.
Difference between Previous and Latest test pattern of SSC CGL

As per SSC CGL 2015 Test Pattern, the objective-type SSC CGL 2015 Tier I exam is of 2-hour duration, consisting of a total of 200 marks. The paper is divided into 4 parts – General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension – of 50 marks each. A negative marking of 0.25 marks is applicable for each wrong answer.

According to SSC Combined Graduate Level 2015 Paper Pattern, the Tier II exam will contain two papers with a total of 400 marks. As many as 100 questions will be asked from Quantitative Abilities with 200 marks, with 2 hours duration and English Language & Comprehension will carry 200 marks, with 2 hours duration. For every wrong answer, there will be a deduction of 0.25 marks in Paper-II and 0.50 marks in Paper-I & Paper-III.

Now SSC will conduct both Tier-I and Tier-II exam in online mode.
Reduce the time limit for examination of Tier -I from 75 minutes to 60 minutes. SSC CGL Tier II will remain same.
Introduce a descriptive paper of 100 marks within 60 minutes in pen and paper mode.

The Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below: 
Tier -I -- Online Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier -II -- Online Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier -III --Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi (writing of Essay/Precis/Letter /Application Writing)
Tier -IV -- Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2017 for Tier 1, 2, & 3

SSC CGL Tier I Exam Pattern:
SSC CGL Tier I is mandatory for all the posts and its marks are added for further process as well. If you do not clear cut-off of Tier I Exam then you will not be eligible for Tier II. In Tier II two papers are conducted on the same day. One is Quantitative Aptitude and the second one is English. Each is conducted for 200 marks.
